Pageland, SC : Hartsville man dies in Chesterfield County crash on Wednesday, August 17, 2016

A 76-year-old Hartsville man was killed after a single-vehicle crash at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Jefferson, SC.

The Chesterfield County Coroner has not yet released the identity of the man killed in the crash.

The man was driving a 2013 Western Star dump truck traveling south on Drew Baker Road just seven miles south of Pageland, according to Trooper Joe Hovis of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to Hovis, the driver ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and the vehicle overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Hovis said.

The driver was then transported by EMS to an area hospital where he eventually died as a result of his injuries.
