A short police chase in Galveston ended Thursday morning with a car driving into a house on 57th Street.
At about 10:20 a.m., the Galveston Police Department received a call from the Texas City Police Department about a stolen vehicle possibly heading to the island.
Soon after, a Galveston patrol officer spotted a car matching the description of the stolen vehicle at the intersection of 54th Street and Broadway. The officer attempted to pull the car over, but it did not stop, according to the police department.
The car turned south of Broadway, and refused to yield, police said. The car eventually turned west on Avenue N 1/2 and sped up. However, it did not stop when it reached 57th Street, where the east-west street ends.
The car continued west and drove into a house.
No one was home at the time. The house received some exterior damage.
Police arrested two of the men from the car after the crash. The 18-year-old and 17-year-old were charged with evading arrest and detention.
A third man fled the area on foot and was not yet in custody on Thursday afternoon.
