North Ridgeville, OH : Elyria women injured after crash on Route 10 west of Durkee Road on Sunday evening, September 14, 2014
An Elyria woman was hospitalized Sunday evening after she tried to switch lanes and instead flipped her car off the road.
Carol Hebberts, 56, was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland about 10 p.m. Sunday after a crash on state Route 10 west of Durkee Road.
According to a preliminary report from the Ohio Highway Patrol, Hebberts was driving in the left-hand lane eastbound on Route 10 in a blue Buick Century when she tried to switch into the right-hand lane, where she hit a vehicle driven by Bobby Neubaur, 24. The collision caused Hebberts’ car to roll over off the right side of the road, hitting a fence and landing upside down in a ditch.
The patrol, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office and the North Ridgeville Fire Department responded to the scene, and had to assist Hebberts out of the car through the back window. She was taken to MetroHealth with an unknown condition on Sunday evening. Neubaur was not taken from the scene.
Neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected to be a factor in the crash, the report said.
