Gwinn, MI : Multiple people were injured in a head-on accident in Sands Township on Thursday morning, February 11, 2016

Multiple people were injured Thursday morning in a head-on accident in Sands Township.

The accident occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. on North M-553 near Oakridge Drive. A blue Buick LeSabre and a black Dodge Ram collided head-on. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

A police officer told ABC 10 that multiple people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Sands Township Fire Department, Sands Township EMS and the Michigan State Police. We’ll pass along more information as it becomes available.
