Police said one person was killed after a head-on crash involving a tractor-trailer in Fairfield Saturday.

It happened on Route 139 just after 2 p.m.

Police said a car driven by Jesse Quirion-Demo, 30, of Norridgewock, was traveling north when he veered into a commercial trailer traveling south.

Quirion-Demo was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was not hurt, police said.

The cause is under investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
