VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL : Passenger dead, driver injured in Volusia County crash on Thursday, 16th February 2023

A crash in Volusia County killed one passenger Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened in De Leon Springs on West Davis Street and U.S. Highway 17 around 5:38 p.m.

A car hit the back of a pickup truck traveling in front of it.

The driver and a passenger in the car were both taken to the hospital.

The passenger died after they were taken to the hospital, troopers said. The driver had serious injuries.

Two people in the pickup truck, the driver and one passenger, were both not injured.
