Bergen, NY : Two people killed, one injured in 1-car crash in western New York on Sunday, AUG 23, 2015
Police say two people have been killed in a one-car crash on a rural western New York road.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Dylan Starkweather of Holley was driving on Sackett Road around 12:45 a.m. Sunday when the car crashed into a tree in the town of Bergen, 20 miles southwest of Rochester.
Deputies say Starkweather and a passenger, 31-year-old Tracy Manchester of Kendall, were killed in the crash.
A second passenger, a 23-year-old man from Bergen, was treated at a Rochester hospital and later released.
Investigators are looking into speed as a factor as well as the possibility there were deer in the roadway at the time of the accident. Police say foggy conditions also may have been a factor in the crash.
