Westbound I-635 at Greenville Avenue Reopened Following Fatal Crash
A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition following a rollover crash on Interstate 635 Monday morning.
At 3:22 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue crews said they were called to the westbound lanes of I-635/LBJ Freeway, just west of Greenville Avenue, for a crash.
Officers arrived to find a pickup truck with major damage and an adult male and female lying in the roadway.
Paramedics transported the woman to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas in critical condition, but the man was declared dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police the truck was traveling very fast on the ramp from Greenville onto westbound I-635 when the driver lost control. The truck rolled down a grassy embankment and then collided with a concrete wall.
Witnesses said the truck continued to roll and landed upright in the middle of the freeway.
Police closed all westbound lanes of I-635, as well as the ramp from Greenville to I-635, while they investigate the crash.
Hazmat crews were called to the scene to finish cleanup from the crash, including cleaning fuel and other fluids that spilled from the truck.
