Walloon Lake, MI : Driver injured in Melrose Township rollover crash on Tuesday, September 20, 2016

The driver of a sport utility vehicle was injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash in Charlevoix County's Melrose Township today, Tuesday.

The crash happened at about 10:15 a.m. on U.S. 131 just south of the M-75 North intersection. The red Dodge sport utility vehicle left the roadway and came to rest on its driver's side on the west side of U.S. 131 about 150 feet south of M-75.

The male driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital by Emmet County EMS. He appeared to be conscious at the scene.

Charlevoix County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Melrose Township Fire Department, the Hudson Township Fire Department and the Michigan State Police.

The crash only had minor impact on traffic on U.S. 131.
