Seguin, TX : 1 man killed in I-10 collision on Tuesday, December, 12th 2017

A wreck on Interstate 10 Monday afternoon claimed the life of a 22-year-old Louisiana man.
The Seguin Police Department, Seguin Fire Department and Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the collision around 1 p.m. after a green Ford Explorer flipped several times off the highway near mile marker 604.
“There was a vehicle traveling on IH-10 eastbound in the inside lane and there was an 18-wheeler on the outside lane,” Seguin Crime Prevention Specialist Carlos Contreras said. “It’s unknown why the vehicle was going from one lane to another, but the Explorer traveling in the inside lane went into the outside lane, colliding with the 18-wheeler’s front end.”
After the car struck the 18-wheeler, it went off the interstate and rolled multiple times before landing on the access road and catching fire, Contreras said.
The Ford’s passenger, Chester Louis Guillot, 22, of Westwego, Louisiana died Monday after being transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center by Methodist AirCare for treatment, Contreras said.
The driver, who’s name has not been released, remains at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Contreras said.
First responders closed Interstate 10 for about 20 minutes while they investigated and treated the occupants, he said.
The collision remains under investigation.
