Coffee County, AL : Crenshaw County teen killed when vehicle runs off roadway, strikes trees, catches fire near Jack in Coffee County on Sunday, May 3, 2015

A Crenshaw County teenager was killed early Sunday morning when his vehicle left the roadway, struck two utility poles and several trees before catching fire.

Griffin Carter Jones, 18, of Brantley wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Carter was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger on Alabama 97, about four miles north of Zion Chapel near Jack in Coffee County when the crash occurred at around 2 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
