GREENFIELD, NY : Woman dead, two people injured in Greenfield crash on April, Monday 10th 2017
A 27-year-old woman died Monday night after a pick-up truck crossed the center line and hit her sedan head-on, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.
A 911 caller reported a two-car crash with serious injuries at 7:56 p.m. on Lake Desolation Road, the sheriff's office said.
Police believe 22-year-old Dustin R. Barnes of Ballston Spa was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck eastbound when he crossed the center line and hit a 2008 Ford Focus sedan nearly head on, the sheriff's office said.
The driver of the sedan, 27-year-old Rachel E. Drumm of Greenfield was pronounced dead at the scene by Saratoga County Coroner Susan Hayes-Masa, the sheriff's office said.
Barnes suffered serious injuries and was flown to Albany Medical Center Hospital by LifeNet, a helicopter ambulance service based in Montgomery County, the sheriff's office said.
Barnes' passenger, 28-year-old Jennifer L. Cook of Ballston Spa, suffered minor injuries and was driven to Saratoga Hospital for treatment, the sheriff's office said.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation by the sheriff's office Collision Reconstruction Unit.
Deputies were assisted by the Middle Grove, Porter Corners, Greenfield Center and Maple Avenue fire departments, as well as the Jessup's Landing, Community and Galway emergency medical service crews.
