Greenfield, NY : Skidmore student dies after being hit by car near campus on Sunday, Nov 1, 2015

Authorities say one of three Skidmore College students hit by a car as they were walking near campus has died.

The Times-Union reports that Michael Hedges, 19, of Lenox, Massachusetts, died shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday at Albany Medical Center.

Hedges and two other men were walking on a street near the campus around 11:20 p.m. Saturday when they were hit by the car. Police said the men had serious injuries to their lower extremities.

The driver of the car has been arrested on charges including vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated.
