WOOSTER TWPA, OH : Fatal motor vehicle crash on Thursday, December, 21st 2017
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Columbus Road (state Route 3) south of Shreve Road (state Route 226) in Wooster Township on Thursday at approximately 5:36 p.m., according to a news release from the OSHP.
Tylon T.M. Ruple, 21, of Wooster was pronounced dead on the scene of the two-vehicle crash. William L. Rinehart Jr., 28, of Lakeville, the other driver involved in the accident, was not injured in the crash.
Ruple was traveling southbound on Columbus Road in the left lane, driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Rinehart, who was operating a 2002 Ford F-150, was also traveling southbound on Columbus Road, in the right lane. Ruple attempted to merge into the right lane and struck Rinehart. Ruple’s vehicle then overturned and struck a tree.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be a factor in the crash.
Assisting at the scene was Dr. Amy Joliff, Wayne County coroner. Also on the scene was Wooster Township Fire and EMS.
