One driver was ticketed and another sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident Saturday afternoon, Oneida County sheriff’s deputies said.

At about 2:30 p.m., Jesse Marshall, 26, of Clark Mills, was driving south on Route 233 when he failed to yield the right of way to Crista Russell, 32, of Westmoreland, who was driving north and attempting to make a left turn onto Sutliff Road, deputies said.

Russell was transported by Central Oneida County Ambulance to Oneida City Hospital for evaluation for chest pain, officials said.

Marshall was issued a traffic ticket returnable to the Town of Whitestown Court at a later date, deputies said.

Westmoreland Fire Department, Oriskany Fire Department, Stanwix Heights Fire Department and Central Oneida County Ambulance responded.
