Anniston, AL : Piedmont woman killed in single-vehicle wreck near Pleasant Valley on Monday evening, March 20, 2017

A Piedmont woman was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle crash near Pleasant Valley, state troopers said on Tuesday.

Buffy Phillips Uesry, 47, was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram on Foster West Road around 5:20 p.m. when the vehicle left the road and struck a ditch, State Trooper Chuck Daniel said by phone.

Uesry was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, Daniel said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

“There was no indication in the report that she was under the influence or speeding,” Daniel said. “If there was they would have put that in the report. There’s no indication of what may have caused her to leave the roadway, either.”
