Moreau, NY : Fort Edward man hospitalized after a crash on Sisson Road on Friday night, April 8, 2016

A Fort Edward man was taken to Albany Medical Center via helicopter after he slammed into a utility pole on Sisson Road on Friday night, police said.

James H. McIntosh, 25, of Burgoyne Avenue, was injured when he illegally tried to pass another vehicle and lost control, shearing a utility pole around 5:45 p.m.

His condition was not available, but the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office reported that he was ticketed for improper passing, failure to keep right and speed not reasonable or prudent, police said.

No power outages were reported in the town as of early Saturday.

Moreau Rescue Squad and South Glens Falls firefighters assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene. Deputy T.C. Marqwardt handled the investigation.
