Upper Macungie Twp, PA : Driver in fatal Upper Macungie tractor-trailer crash on Thursday morning, June 25, 2015

The 52-year-old Syracuse, New York, woman who died after a tractor-trailer crash Thursday morning on Route 222 in Upper Macungie Township was not wearing a seat belt, township police report.

Kathleen Blue was driving a 2001 Volvo truck tractor and hauling a 2015 Utility trailer when she left the road about 3:20 a.m. and hit a ditch, police said. The truck overturned onto the driver's side in the 10000 block of Hamilton Boulevard, as the road is also known, police said.

Blue was partially ejected from the truck, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner's office said. An autopsy was planned for Friday morning, the coroner's office said.

The road was closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 484-661-5911.

Centronia Ambulance, the coroner's office and the township fire company assisted at the scene, police said.
