Blountville,TN : Two Virginia men injured in I-81 crash in Blountville on August, Saturday 26th 2017

Two people were seriously injured Saturday in a crash on Interstate 81 in Sullivan County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a Cam-am tricycle, driven by Robert Young, 74, of Fincastle, Virginia, was traveling southbound on Interstate 81 near Exit 69. The driver lost control and rear-ended a southbound Yamaha bike, driven by Barry Hanover, 37, of Mount Solon, Virginia.


Both motorcycles came to rest off the roadway, the THP said. Both men were transported to Bristol Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The southbound lanes were blocked and traffic backed up for several miles as emergency personnel worked at the crash scene.
