Decatur, GA : Tow truck driver fatally struck on I-20 near Atlanta on July 22, 2014

Police say a man has died in a crash on I-20 that prompted lane closures and traffic backups just ahead of afternoon rush hour.

DeKalb County Police Capt. Steve Fore tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the driver of a tow truck who was called to help a disabled motorist Tuesday afternoon and was fatally struck by a car while he was trying to hook the disabled car to his truck.

The accident led to closures of the highway's westbound lanes near the Glenwood Avenue exit.

Details on whether charges are expected to be filed in the crash weren't immediately available.
