Hamilton, IL : Biggsville teen dies, two others seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash in Hancock County on Thursday night, July 28, 2016

A Biggsville teen died, and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Hancock County.

Illinois State Police reported that a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 16-year-old male juvenile was traveling southbound on County Road 900 East, north of County Road 1800 North, at approximately 6:17 p.m. when it lost control and began to skid. The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane of traffic and was struck in the passenger front door by a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Impala driven by Cara B. Ferris, 32, of Donnellson, Iowa.

The 16-year-old driver and a 13-year-old male passenger were life flighted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with serious injuries. Ferris was life flighted to University of Iowa hospital, also with serious injuries.

Adams County Coroner James Keller said Jonathan Lee Guyton, 13, of Biggsville, was pronounced dead at 8:17 p.m. in Blessing's emergency room. An autopsy was planned in Bloomington.

ISP said all three were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation.

ISP was assisted by the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, Hamilton Fire and Rescue, Hancock County Ambulance Service, Air Evac and Med Force.
