A DeFuniak Springs man was killed Monday night in a one-vehicle accident on State Road 81 in Holmes County.
According to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Lazaro Keyutaye Aguilar was traveling south on SR 81 at 6:10 p.m. Monday in a 2017 Chrysler 200 when the vehicle crossed the center line and traveled onto the east shoulder

of the roadway.
The FHP report then noted that Aguilar overcorrected, causing the vehicle to re-enter SR 81, crossing both lanes of travel onto the west shoulder. At that point, his car began to spin counter-clockwise. After overcorrecting a second time, the report

said Aguilar collided with a concrete culvert and several trees.
According to the report, the Chrysler 200 then continued south along the west shoulder, overturning and coming to a final rest on its wheels, facing in an easterly direction.
Aguilar was transported to Wiregrass Hospital in Geneva, Alabama, where he was pronounced dead.
FHP noted in the report alcohol results are pending in its investigation of the fatal crash.
