Annapolis, MD : Man seriously injured in Annapolis crash on Monday morning, June 13, 2016
A man was seriously injured after the pickup truck he was riding in overturned Monday morning in Annapolis, city police and fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the 1300 block of Forest Drive around 8:06 a.m. where they found the man trapped inside a pickup.
The pickup was turning left onto westbound Forest Drive from a nearby parking lot when it was struck by a westbound vehicle causing it to overturn, Cpl. Amy Miguez, a city police spokeswoman said.
Firefighters were able to remove the man from the vehicle around 8:35 a.m., fire officials said.
As of around 8:50 a.m., the man, believed to be around 30-years-old, was said to be suffering from serious and possibly life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.
A Maryland State Police helicopter has been requested to the scene and will likely fly the man to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, fire officials said.
As of around 9 a.m. all lanes on Forest Drive had been reopened, Miguez said.
