One woman was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a crash that closed Interstate 380 northbound for several hours during Thursday’s evening rush hour.A release from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office said emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash near the I-380 northbound exit for County Home Road at 4:57 p.m. Deputies arrived to find a passenger car hit a cargo trailer.The driver of the car, identified as 45-year-old Jodi Houser, of Walker, was driving north on the interstate when she hit a trailer being pulled by the truck.The truck had stopped in traffic due to a previous accident further along the highway, according to the release.The crash with the trailer caused Houser to be trapped inside her car. Emergency crews closed of the interstate while they worked to get her out. She was taken by helicopter to UIHC with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries, deputies said.The driver of the truck pulling the trailer and a passenger were not injured.The backup while northbound I-380 was closed extended south to the Blairs Ferry Road exit, according to images from Iowa Department of Transportation cameras. Traffic had cleared by about 7 p.m.
