Newfield, N.Y : 31-year-old Tracey Snyder dead after a crash involving four vehicles in Tompkins County on Wednesday, May 6, 2015

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman who was killed in a head-on crash that shut down Route 13 in the town of Newfield on Wednesday.

Investigators believe 31-year-old Tracey Snyder was in the southbound lane when she passed over into oncoming traffic, swiping two other vehicle before colliding head on with another car.

They are still trying to determine why Snyder’s car veered into oncoming traffic.

Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in her vehicle, 46-year-old Gary Macrabie of Newfield, was airlifted to a hospital in Pennsylvania, where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver in the other car, 53-year-old Sharon Darlow of Ithaca, was airlifted to the same Pennsylvania hospital. She is also listed in critical condition.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
