PALMDALE, CA : Woman killed, three hurt in head-on crash in Palmdale on Sunday, 4th March 2018
A 62-year-old woman was killed Sunday and three people were injured when her car crashed head-on into an SUV in Palmdale, authorities said.
It happened about 5:50 p.m. in the 2200 block of West Elizabeth Lake Road at Louise Lane, Lt. Anthony Gunn of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Palmdale Station said.
The woman was driving her white Acura crossover car westbound at a high rate of speed when she “lost control, crossed over the center divider and struck an eastbound vehicle,” Gunn said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
An 18-year-old man driving the dark-colored 2004 Chevrolet Suburban and his mother were critically injured and taken to Antelope Valley Hospital. The father was taken to Palmdale Regional Medical Center.
Los Angeles County firefighters used the jaws of life to remove some of the victims, Dispatch Supervisor Jeremy Stafford said.
