Dawson, W.V : McDowell County man died in a single-vehicle accident on I-64 in Greenbrier County on Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016

A McDowell County man died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident on I-64 in Greenbrier County near Dawson.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office responded about 6:09 a.m. and found that that Brandon Lockhart, 36 of Iaeger had been traveling eastbound in a dump truck with the truck's bed in the up position.

The bed struck the overhead bridge and the resulting impact caused the truck to separate from the dump bed, flip over and come to rest on its top in the median.

The truck belonged to RDD Trucking Co., also of Iaeger.

Lockhart died of injuries sustained in the accident.

Cpl. C.W. Bennett and Deputy A.L. Workman are investigating the accident.
