Memphis, TN : Loved ones remember grandmother killed in her car on Wednesday October 12 2016

There is no clear motive behind the killing of an Orange Mound grandmother. Memphis police found her dead in her car not far from her home on Wednesday.

One by one, candles were lit on Lisa Cain's Orange Mound driveway as loved ones held a vigil. The message of love glowed from her home and it was forgiveness that the family preached.

“I believe that's the source of what's wrong with Memphis," Cain's brother, Rev. Allen Richardson, said. "There are a lot of people that are not conscious. They are unconscious in the way of doing things and it results in violence.”

On Thursday night, her family hoped to show the community the light to the path to forgiveness.

Gunshots rang out early Wednesday morning while Cain and another man were in the car together.

A car pulled up behind them, blocking them, and then opened fire.

Together through the strength of prayers, the family said they will eventually heal. But still they are left with lingering questions as to who took Lisa's life.

“Whoever did this to my auntie, she's a good person," Cain's nephew, Terrance Barbee, said. "She don't bother no body. She's a good person. Turn yourself in."

“Ultimately, whoever did it--his conscious will get him,” Richardson said.

The family has faith the flames of Lisa's memorial will pull the truth out of the person responsible.

Investigators say it's unclear at this time if Cain knew her shooter.
