Boulder County, CO : 24-year-old man seriously injured in ATV crash in Boulder County on Sunday, 26th August 2018

A 24-year-old man was seriously injured in an ATV crash Sunday on National Forest Service property in Boulder County, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

At about 1 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Allenspark Fire Department, Estes Park Ambulance Service and the Northern Colorado Medivac Service responded to the area of Colo. 7 and Colo. 72 on a report of an injured ATV driver.

The Denver-area man sustained serious injuries to his head and chest and was unconscious, according to the sheriff's office. The man was taken by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment.

It was unclear to those who responded to the scene if the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the sheriff's office.
