DAVENPORT, IA : Former Sterling man dies in crash in Iowa in the 1800 block of East River Drive on Monday 29th October 2018

A 45-year-old former Sterling man died after crashing into a railroad bridge.

Ricardo J. Bernal, of Davenport, was eastbound in the 1800 block of East River Drive around 10:30 p.m. when his Dodge Durango left the road and hit the bridge, Davenport police said in a news release. Bernal was alone in the SUV.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Bernal, and sons, Ricardo and Marcos Bernal, all of Davenport, and his parents, Ramon and Virginia Bernal, and brothers Raymond and Isaac Bernal, all of Sterling.

Arrangements are pending at McDonald Funeral Home.
