A Mercersburg woman died Monday after she was injured in a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Path Valley Road in Metal Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said. Tiffany M. Hinkle, 22, died at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Altoona in Altoona, Pa., according to a state police news release. Earlier Monday, a hospital spokeswoman told The Herald-Mail that Hinkle was in critical condition. Troopers said the accident happened at 4:35 p.m., when an Acura RSX Type S that Hinkle was driving struck a utility pole in the 10800 block of Path Valley Road. The Acura overturned, causing Hinkle to be thrown from the vehicle, troopers said. A 2-year-old boy who was sitting in a child seat was not injured, troopers said.
