The 23-year-old Lake Worth driver involved in the fatal crash early Saturday was driving on the wrong side of I-95 in the HOV lane, accordingto the crash report.

Subhan Saigol Khurram, who suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Delray Medical Center, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision. Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating whether Khurram was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.

1:40 p.m. update: Two Lauderdale Lakes men died in the fatal head-on wreck early Saturday on Interstate 95 in Boca Raton, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Frans Roy McCatty, 50, and Ricardo Franklyn Fletcher, 33, died in the 5:40 a.m. wreck in the northbound lanes between Yamato Road and Congress Avenue, FHP said in a report released Saturday afternoon.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation, and tests are pending on whether McCatty, who was driving the 2000 Honda Accord in which they were riding, was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol at the time of the head-on crash.

Neither McCatty nor Fletcher were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, FHP said.

A 23-year-old Lake Worth man, Subhan Saigol Khurram, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Delray Medical Center, FHP said. Tests also are pending on whether Khurram, who was driving a 2014 Honda Civic, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the wreck. It was unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt.

One of four people in the third car involved in the wreck — Cynthia Sobransingh, 35, of Deerfield Beach — sustained minor injuries, FHP said. The other occupants of her family’s 2007 Toyota Prius — David, 36, Josiah, 6, and Abigail, 3 — were uninjured, and all four of them were wearing seat belts.

There is no indication that David Sobransingh, the driver, was under the influence of either alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash, FHP said.

Details of how the crash unfolded remained under investigation Saturday FHP said.

The wreck closed Interstate 95 in the area for more than four hours Saturday. It reopened at about 10 a.m.

11 a.m. update: All lanes have reopened on Interstate 95 following a fatal crash early Saturday that killed two people, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

8:25 a.m. update: Two people died in a head-on crash early Saturday on northbound Interstate 95 in Boca Raton, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

All northbound traffic is shut down north of Glades Road. Vehicles must leave the highway at Glades Road and return to the interstate at an entry in Delray Beach, FHP said.

The crash involved three vehicles and took place between Yamato Road and Congress Avenue at about 5:40 a.m., said Sgt. Mark Wysocky, FHP spokesman.

One person also was rushed to Delray Medical Center after the wreck, Wysocky said.
