ALAMO TOWNSHIP, MI : 2 bicyclists taken to hospital after hit-and-run crash on Thursday, 10th November 2016
Authorities say two bicyclists were injured following a hit-and-run crash in southwestern Michigan.
The Kalamazoo County sheriff's department says a pickup truck hit the bicyclists Thursday night in Alamo Township. The department says the injured bicyclists were among four riders. Injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
MLive.com reports the riders were part of the Kalamazoo Bicycle Club. Valerie Litznerski was among them and says the riders and their bikes were marked with reflective material and flashing lights. She says the injured riders were out of the hospital Friday.
In June, a motorist plowed into a group of bicyclists with his pickup, killing five and injuring four, in Kalamazoo County's Cooper Township, which is nearby. On Monday, a judge ordered Charles Pickett Jr. to trial on second-degree murder charges in that case.
