A man was killed in a head-on crash in east Charlotte Friday, according to police.
The accident happened around 12 p.m. on the 5100 block of Hickory Grove Road near Valleyview Drive.
Investigators said that 54-year-old Nathan Tyler Doster was driving a 1997 Honda Accord when he crossed the center line and struck a 1999 Jeep Cherokee head-on.
Doster, who officers said was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 34-year-old driver of the Jeep was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.
Police say they believe that drug and/or alcohol impairment contributed to the crash, but did not give further details.
