Poway, CA : Person killed in Poway crash; drivers to avoid area near Poway High on Friday, 12th February 2021

A person was killed in a crash Friday night on Espola Road in Poway.

San Diego Sheriff’s Department has closed the area to traffic near the intersection of Espola Road and Eden Grove/Titan Way. That is close to Poway High and the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. Lt. Aldo Hernandez said at 10 p.m. Friday that the closure will likely last several more hours so deputies can investigate.

He said deputies were called about 7:15 p.m. to the 15500 block of Espola Road, near Poway High School, to a report of a two-vehicle crash.

The person fatally injured was not immediately identified. Hernandez could not provide further details about the accident.
