Bakersfield, CA : Coroner identifies man killed in northwest Bakersfield crash on April, Sunday 2nd 2017

The coroner's office has released the name of the driver of an SUV who died after his vehicle was broadsided by a pickup in northwest Bakersfield.

Timothy Dale Riblett, 55, suffered serious injuries in the crash at 12:32 p.m. Sunday and died about 40 minutes later at Kern Medical Center, according to a coroner's release.

Police said Riblett was driving south on Verdugo Lane and entered the intersection with Noriega Road when the driver of the pickup ran a red light traveling west on Noriega and crashed into the SUV.

A passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries, and the driver of the pickup was uninjured, police said.
