Springfield, IL : U.S. 1 open after one entrapped south of Pineda Causeway on Monday, 19th September 2016

Traffic is moving slowly on U.S. 1 following an accident about one mile south of the Pineda Causeway. The roadway is open after being partially blocked for over an hour.

The vehicle was traveling in the southbound lane when the driver apparently lost control and rolled over onto the median. The accident happened about 6:50 a.m. Monday. The driver suffered minor injuries and was conscious as he was removed from the vehicle by rescue workers, officials reported. Brevard County Fire Rescue crews treated the man after he was taken out of the wrecked truck and transported him to a nearby hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the crash.
