Wausau,WI : Driver injured in Friday crash with semi truck near Rhinelander on January, Friday 12th 2018

One driver was injured Friday after a crash involving a semi truck and a passenger truck on U.S. 8 near Crescent Road about 7 miles west of Rhinelander.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office received a call around 1 p.m. Friday of a two-vehicle crash, which caused a portion of U.S. 8 to be shut down.

The driver of the passenger truck was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries, according to the sheriff's office. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office had no new information as of Saturday morning. The identity of the drivers was not released by police.
