At least wo adults and two children were taken to area hospitals after a multi-vehicle crash northwest of Sisters Sunday afternoon.

Oregon State troopers responded to reports of a crash about 2:30 p.m. on Oregon 20 near Hoodoo, according to an Oregon State Police press release.

According to the release, Kara J. Smith, 31, of Redmond was headed eastbound in a 2006 Scion when she lost control on a sweeping right curve. Her car crossed the center line and into the path of Gail W. Hayes, 73, of Salem, who was westbound in a 2009 Ford Flex wagon. Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lanes.

An off-duty trooper with the Salem Area Command stopped at the crash scene and rendered medical aid. Two children from the Scion were taken by ambulance to Black Butte Ranch, then by helicopter to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment of serious injuries. At least two adults were also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

At the time of the crash, there was a light rain and the highway was wet. The state police investigation continues.
