State police say a collision between a pickup truck and car during a high-speed chase on a highway in the Adirondack Mountains has killed a husband and wife and critically injured their daughter.
The crash happened Thursday afternoon on state Route 86 in front of the state Adirondack Park Agency offices and near the entrance to the state police barracks in Ray Brook.
State police say the pickup driver had been involved in an earlier hit-and-run collision and was fleeing police when he struck the car, killing a 42-year-old man and his 38-year-old wife. Their 11-year-old daughter was airlifted to a hospital where she underwent surgery for multiple injuries.
