A 19-year-old Maine woman stole a hard-cider truck Tuesday morning and attempted to flee police before crashing the truck into a barn, according to the York County Sheriff’s Department.

Police were first alerted to a truck driving erratically on Route 5 in Waterboro. After an attempted traffic stop, the truck continued at speeds as high as 65 mph, according to police, who learned that the Angry Orchard truck had been stolen from Portland.

Police said the driver, Nicole Dyment, of Canton, appears to have lost control and crashed the truck into a barn in the town of Limerick.

She was being treated for a possible head injury at Southern Maine Medical Center, according to police.

Dyment was expected to be charged with operating under the influence, driving to endanger, failure to stop for a police officer, and driving without a license, according to a statement from York County Sheriff William King. Dyment could also face charges in Cumberland County, King said.
