Medina County, OH : Middleburg Hts. teen killed in accident on I-71 in Medina Township early Wednesday morning on September 24, 2014

An 18-year-old Middleburg Heights teenager was killed in a car accident early Wednesday morning. It happened around 5:00 a.m. on I-71 in Medina Township. Troopers say Renee Ondrejech was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Passat northbound on I-71 when she started having mechanical problems and became disabled in the right lane. She was then rear-ended by a tractor trailer driven by Scott Meeks, 43, of Berea. The impact pushed both vehicles off the right side of the road and into several trees. Ondrejech was pronounced dead at the scene. Meeks was transported to Medina General Hospital with minor injuries. The right lane of I-71N was shut down for about five hours.
