STATEN ISLAND, NY : 4 injured in crashes on Verrazzano that caused hours of delays on Staten Island on Thursday, 20th December 2018

At least four people were injured in two crashes on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge that fueled massive traffic jams on the Staten Island Expressway and access roads during the Thursday morning rush hour.

An accident on the Gowanus Expressway also contributed to the traffic nightmare that began early and extended throughout the morning rush hour.

The extreme congestion caused delays and detours for MTA buses that cross the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
