Indianapolis, IN : Four people injured after southwest side crash early Sunday morning, February 12, 2017
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers are investigating a serious crash early Sunday morning on the southwest side at the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Ameriplex Parkway that sent four to local hospitals.
Police believe that a car and pick-up truck were both traveling southbound on Kentucky Avenue approaching the intersection with Ameriplex Parkway just before 3 a.m. when the two vehicles collided, coming to rest on the southwest side of the intersection. The entire intersection was closed down for a short time while emergency workers took care of the victims.
Three teens were riding in the car and one of those, a passenger, was transported to a hospital in critical condition with a possible head injury. The other two teens were also transported in serious condition. The driver of the pick-up truck was also transported in serious condition.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash but speed and inexperienced driving for the road conditions at the time of the accident could be factors in the crash according to police.
