Mount Vernon, WA : Pedestrian struck by car on State Route 536 near Mount Vernon on Thursday night, April 14, 2016

A 48-year-old Blaine man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on State Route 536 near Mount Vernon on Thursday night.

Police told the man was walking on the highway and wearing dark clothes. The area does not have much lighting.

The pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The driver of the car was not injured.
