Plant City , FL : Two bikers injured in crash after traffic accident at state roads in east Hillsborough County on Saturday night ,January 3rd 2015

Two bikers were hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after a traffic accident at state roads 60 and 39 in east Hillsborough County.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 2006 Toyota SUV driven by Kathleen Mae Sinaguglia, 65, of Zephyrhills was traveling northbound on State Road 39 in the left turn lane to State Road 60.

Two motorcycles were traveling southbound on SR 39 in the outside lane.

The Toyota SUV turned left into the path of the motorcycles, which had the right of way, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

Gudmundur Sigurdsson, 44, of Tampa, operating a 2002 Honda motorcycle, and David Roger Gunn, 45, of Gibsonton, riding a 2007 Yama, laid down the bikes to avoid the collision and slid into the Toyota.

All three vehicles came to rest in the intersection of SR 60 and 39.

Sigurdsson was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment. Gunn was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Alcohol was not believed to be involved.

There was no information about whether any charges would be filed.
