JO DAVIESS COUNTY, IL: 3 injured in single-vehicle crash in Jo Daviess County on Friday, 19th July 2024

Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said three people were injured after a driver swerved to avoid a construction truck.

The driver has been cited for speeding, reckless driving, defective brakes, failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Dylan Dupree, 28, of Galena lost control of the vehicle at about 3:30 p.m. Friday at 604 N. Blackjack Road outside of Galena, according to the crash report.

Deputies said a construction truck with a trailer was leaving a driveway, and Dupree was going too fast to avoid it He swerved, leaving the road and hitting a tree.
