Henderson, KY : Two people injured in multi-vehicle wreck on U.S. 41 on Wednesday afternoon, August 3, 2016
A multivehicle accident involving a semi tractor-trailer tied up traffic on both sides of U.S. 41 on Wednesday afternoon.
Eleanor Jeffrey, 72, 1787 Meadow Lane in Henderson, pulled out of Audubon Trailer Park and began to turn left to go north on U.S. 41 at 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to a report from Henderson Police.
Brandy Borne, 38, 3634 E. Marshall St. in Henderson, was southbound on U.S. 41 and struck the driver's side of Jeffrey's vehicle, causing her to go across the north and southbound lanes, according to Henderson Police Department.
Borne's vehicle then struck a semi tractor-trailer driven by Johnny Pirtle, 59, of Evansville, that was stopped on U.S. 41-N in the southbound lanes.
Jeffrey had to be extricated from her vehicle. She and her passenger, 14-year-old Sierra Archaletta, 1125 N. Elm St., were transported to Methodist Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
All northbound lanes of U.S. 41-N were closed for approximately 40 minutes for extrication and clean up. One lane of southbound U.S. 41 was closed for 30 minutes.
