MILILANI, HI : 78-year-old dies more than a month after crash in Mililani on Thursday, 25th April 2024

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) reports that a 78-year-old driver has died following a collision on Lanikuhana Ave.

On Monday, March it was reported to HPD, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 78-year-old man was traveling westbound on Lanikuhana Ave when he drove off of the roadway and hit a tree.

As a result of the crash, the man was taken to a nearby hospital in good condition. However, while at the hospital, the man’s condition slowly deteriorated.

On Wednesday, April 24, the Medical Examiner’s Office informed the Vehicular Homicide Section that the man had died.

At this time, it’s unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in this collision.
