4 dead, 8 injured in deadly night on Manitoba roads

Saturday night was a dangerous one for drivers on Manitoba roads. Four people died and eight other people, including two police officers, were injured in three separate collisions within a few hours of each other.
Two women died when their Pontiac Grand Am collided head-on with a Ford Explorer on Gateway Road near Budden Drive around 9:30 p.m. The driver of the Explorer was heading north on Gateway when it veered into the path of the Grand Am, said police. The collision flipped the Grand Am over onto its roof.
Paramedics took the two occupants of the Grand Am to hospital in critical condition. Both later succumbed to their injuries. The two occupants of the Explorer, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
